Is it today? If it is then I've just created a new holiday tradition which involves eating a bag of baby carrots, drinking a bottle of scotch, and watching Community on my computer while having filthy thoughts about Alison Brie.

I'm sure Jesus would be proud.

Oh right. I wasn't sure if she meant my NINJA thing.
Yes of course it is. No question. Point is, when you don't work with balck people (there weren't that many around in Ireland at this time) you tended to say that a little more than you should. Mind you, in one way it was always meant as a compliment in a rather stupid offhand way --- working so hard. I know of course that refers to slaves, so don't get on my back about it being in no way a compliment. I'm just saying that we would say things like "working like a nig ger" to mean industrious, busy etc whereas "tight as a Scotsman" etc would be a negative thing.

Anyway, as I said it was said in joke manner, not meant to hurt anyone and had Gerry realised who he was talking to he would never have said it. The REAL point is that Americ, the black guy, just laughed. Of course, deep down he may have been offended, but it's just one of those things that happens and I think you have to look at the spirit it's said in. Like if someone called me a "thick Paddy" or something I wouldn't necessarily take offence. Course, if they started talking about "Cromwell having the right idea" (see this coming Sunday's post on the Easter Rising in two days if you don't know what I mean) then I would be angry.

Back to the Ninja thing: I think it was a flip, funny remark and I doubt the guy would have taken offence. Had she said "You're a slanty-eyed bastard" or talked about Hiroshima, yes he would have been annoyed, angry even. I think people are too touchy both about what they can say, and about what others say about them. Of course you have to be sensitive (Mister Super Sensitive here, after all!) but you also have to use a bit of Cop-On, as we say here...

It's just a little Baja 50cc I bought for the kids out at my buddys house. I ride it too sometimes. I've been on the lookout for a cheap quad, like an 80cc or 120cc. Just haven't been able to find one around here for as cheap as I paid for the Baja. There are other toys too:

Well, I'm calling you a wingnut, so I think it's relevant to the discussion given that homeopathy and vaccine conspiracies are also wingnut fodder. Oh, and I almost forgot this...

Dude, what? That is awful. Anecdotal evidence can be worse than useless. You don't know whether the sample is in any way representative of any kind of trend or whether it's just a fluke. You don't know whether the person giving or collecting the anecdote is lying, stupid, confusing correlation with causation, etc. Anecdotal evidence can be misleading and lead to more harm than good. I should think that would be obvious.

Good choice Lonnie really great bikes. I have a RM 250, and my dads old 83 YZ 390 Desert bike. Obviously the RM 250 is my weapon of choice but my pops ol 390 is still kicking pretty good.

It boils down to personal opinions apparently. If questioning the chemicals that you put into your body is "wingnut fodder" then sign me up.

How can you say that SOME evidence is worse than NO evidence? That makes absolutely no sense. Like I said, I can personally vouch for people having ailments such as skin rashes, viral infections, sepsis, even cancerous cells cured by things like moringa. I have a friend who is in Harvard Medical School and actually does studies and publishes reports on his findings, so it really is more than anecdotal evidence. But not having the reports on hand, that's the word I'm going with to describe it. Be an ass if you want. When you're in a FEMA camp getting an RFID chip forcibly implanted under your skin you might think twice about referring to conscious awareness as "wingnut fodder."

I decided that yesterday I will be going back to school to become an IT tech. Really excited because I love that field of work.
