But people do occasionally get struck and people do win Lottos, right.

We do a Lotto pool in work where each employee chips in for two tickets and everyone agrees that if any one ticket wins we all split the payout. Will it ever happen? Most likely not. But the miniscule chance of winning and all being able to retire on the same day is worth a couple of singles to everyone.

By that same logic you should under no circumstances ever go outside during a thunderstorm.

Huh? What does one have to do with the other? BTW, your chances of getting cancer are way higher than me winning the lotto so why do you buy cigarettes?

I've had a few moments of clarity around these parts.

Zero chance of any payback with the JWB business model. I'll stickj with the 1 in 10,000,000 I got going now.

Well, if you're more likely to get struck by lightning than win the lottery, then logic would dictate that if you're willing to take a chance on the lottery then you should be even more concerned with getting hit by lightning.

And lottery tickets are only worthwhile if you actually win (which you almost certainly won't, making almost all lottery tickets inherently worthless), whereas a pack of cigarettes yields the same (assumedly) desirable results every time.

you could say that gambling brings similar results as any other drug, really.

i just don't know why you'd pick a game with such ****ty odds. you are literally better off putting your paycheck down on a roulette table every once in a blue moon than you are playing the lotto on a consistent basis.

I was gonna sleep last night, but then I accidentally watched most of seasons 6-7 of Dexter. TV is a hell of a drug.

To a small degree.

I usually do quite well at Black Jack when we hit up Vegas. Most often I win enough to cover meal expenses.

And we did win $12 in the last Lotto which was put right back into the pot. Woohoo!
