My boss threatened to fire me today. Ok mr. Boss, fuckface, I work a meager 10 hours a week, if that. I'm one of the best employees bar none. He's pissed because I skip out on greeting every damn customer that crawls in, that's not my fucking job. Not to mention the guy looks like he got punched by meth.

I have bigger fish to fry frankly, this lame rule was never implemented before. Now I need to make it a habit and I hate greeting people, it just makes me weirdly nervous.

It put me off in the past, but you get used to it pretty quick in my experience.

It's not overtly about you giving someone a full reprimand as opposed to a warning or whatever because they're being a douchebag, it's more over do you feel like defending to your boss why you gave a warning as opposed to a ticket. Remember, ultimately tickets, court costs, that's all money for the state. Civilian cops sometimes do have quotas to make for tickets (which is B.S. if you ask me). In this situation, it wasn't like he had a choice in signing it or not. If the Army wants an investigation closed, you close it. If closing it means finalizing paperwork, getting some signatures, you do it. If by doing so, you have to arrest someone to convince them to sign the damn thing, then you do it.

As far as enforcing the law goes, I believe I've said this somewhere else, but if a cop sees you mug someone, you're pretty much going to jail. There's not a whole lot of wiggle room from the cop's perspective. A ticket is a bit different though, because there is a level of interpretation. According to the letter of the law, if you're going 1mph over the posted speed limit, you're speeding, and you deserve the (what is it $115 fine now??) ticket. I mean, according to the law, it's very clear cut and dry. But, officers don't always enforce it to the letter of the law - obviously. I think, though, what you're saying is that you prefer a consistency from law enforcement in how/what they stop (for). State trooper sitting on the side of the road pulls everyone over who is going 7+ over the limit, gives a ticket. Consistency.

What if she had been disciplined earlier for cutting people loose for similar things? Her super threatened her job?

Next time I'll let YOU deal with the red-faced Lt. Col. expecting results, not excuses, see how you handle the situation, fair enough?

But there's also a level of abuse of power. Just giving tickets over stupid B.S. because you can or gunning someone down who isn't armed.

Retail? Because that sounds like a very retail thing, and my guess either he's B.S.'ing you, or it is part of your job. Rather than saying piss on this, I don't need this job, why not be thankful that you do have it? Several people out there would be grateful for the tenish hours a week you work.

A package came today, from my soul-sister, a wonderful girl I've known for 6 years or so - packed to the brim with vintage goodies and a lovely stack of wax.

My biological sister (age 21) drew this lovely picture for me



A close friend of mine (who doesn't even use social media - possibly because of his substance abuse issues vs his unwillingness to make an ass of himself in a way that can be screenshot) remembered it was my birthday and sent me a sweet little message via text.

Plus I look really cute today and Ki and I are going out for dinner with his parents tonight. :)
