If you're happy going through life doing the least amount you can, you don't deserve to move up in any company.
You sound simple-minded and uncreative enough to be a fantastic manager.

Typically, it's better to show interest in being a supervisor or manager. They won't just come up to you and ask you to do it. I had to push my supervisors a few times before they allowed it.

I love working with people like you.

I put in the minimum amount of effort while people like you pick up my slack. I just do time consuming busy work to make it look like I'm working as hard as you but I'm definitely not.
Something doesn't add up. You put in the minimum effort, while doing time consuming busy work? Those sentences in succession, sound like polar opposites. I work hard while doing absolutely nothing. You should be looking for a new job very soon judging by your work standards, congratulations.

No, but DJ did. The only things I expect from you are disgust and entertainment.

I was a pretty damn good manager in training until they screwed me over in terms of raises and other crap. They loved me though. Had they treated me better, I'd be a manager right now.

I'm sure some places are better than others but the jobs I've worked at I wouldn't want to be manager no matter what my work ethic was. The higher up the manager is the more likely they are to be a dickhead. Corporate politics seem to demand that the higher you get the more you must think like your bosses, who are even farther removed from the employees than you are. A depressing majority of people above store-level managers have all been ****s, and I have no desire to go down that road.

This isn't what I do present day. It's what I used to do when I would was looking for work and had to rely on manual labor temp jobs.

See above.

When I worked at the library, I would complete the section then do something they wanted us to do called shelf reading to make sure the books were neat and in order. I would go back and forth to different areas to make it look like I was shelf reading and organizing certain sections but I only did that when the head librarian was around. As soon as she left, I would just put a magazine on a shelf and sit there pretending that I was still "shelf reading".

It's the same thing like picking up a broom and sweeping a section longer than you should just to kind of waste time after doing the main thing that you were supposed to do but you have to keep moving to make yourself look busy even after you finished your task. Yes I lack incentive but I get my tasks done! I just didn't like going above and beyond for minimum wage. There was no incentive for me to do it. No talk of being offered more money or a better position and the places I worked at there wasn't any moving up from the position I was at.

Though this is true, I've had some really cool managers in my time. I will say that I've also known a lot of managers that like to complain about the job they have. If they don't want it, they shouldn't take it.

The main reason they take it is for more money.

I was under the impression this was a current thing. I always worked hard at everything i've done, because the accomplishment is something that pleases me. I have worked several retail jobs along with my current place of employment and I always give one hundred percent because I was always thankful to have a job. Different Strokes.
