My car croaked on me the other night. I got off work and it just wouldn't start. I took it to a mechanic that told me it's the computer (ECM). Ok, fine. How much? The dude told me $1,065. I looked up how much computers for a 2010 Nissan Sentra and I could get a new one for less than $200. So what the fuck? I got my car out of there and now I' searching for a new mechanic. my uncle says he knows this good guy. So I'm taking it there tomorrow and i'm really gonna find out what's wrong with the car. Never has someone been so blatant with their scam that lying sack of mexican horseshit.

If it's the fuel pump, that's under the back seat. Easy peezy. If it's turning over/cranking but not firing, that's probably it. I really doubt it's the ECM. That's not common, but the fuel pump going out is.

you should enquire as to where he's getting the replacement from, there's always cheaper alternatives but there's also oem parts. what he's quoting you out at probably isn't the same cheap aftermarket part you found online. just a heads up for future times.

also ^ this

ecm isn't a very common issue, and for a 2010 nissan it certainly seems like a slightly strange diagnosis. might not hurt to have a second look by someone else.
