Nothing quite as sad as a sick cat. Hope she makes a full recovery. Is this the one that only came back recently after having been away for years? Or am I mixing you up with Merit? I'm pretty sure you said your cat had reappeared after so long you thought you'd never see her again...

Nah, different cat. And she's not sad. She had breathing problems at first but after an antibiotic shot from the vet and some meds at home she's thriving. And she never stopped being a super-friendly attention-whore with a big mouth. Even if she literally was operating on one lung since the other was completely full of fluid.

Booted into safe mode, ran virus and spyware checks, nothing. Tried restore, no dice. Was supposedly "recovering files" for about two hours before I gave up and shut the machine off again. Got my Windows installation disk, tried Repair. You're joking, mate! Finally had no choice to but to totally reinstall Windows, which meant reinstalling all my old programmes, getting the likes of Spotify back up running and basically being a big pain in the arse. Finally finished about 3am.

I tell you, I've ****ing had it with Windows. I'm now looking into Linux, because I am tired of being subject to the tyranny of Microsoft and their ****ty system, but it (Linux) looks very daunting. I know I spoke of this before, but if anyone has any practical advice for me vis a vis Linux I'll be happy to talk to you.

Aside: having no other choice after reinstalling Windows I had to use Internet Explorer to get online. It tells me it's out of date, and I have to download the latest version, 11. So I do that, and what happens? "Microsoft has protected you by blocking this download"!!!! ****ing thick ****s blocked THEIR OWN SOFTWARE from downloading! Says it all really. Now SP1 won't install for me. **** you, Bill Gates. **** you to hell and back. I'm done with you. As soon as I can, you're getting kicked to the kerb.

(Ten years later, Trollheart says to himself: "I really should look into Linux. This is the tenth time this year I've had to reinstall"....)

Anyhow, glad to see you're still around. I think I killed the guess your song thread (I won again yesterday).
How come?

@#$^& Bolded Sentences

I think it's part of the Microsoft monopoly. Linux is European so I guess we hate anything that isn't American.

Linux is open source, so there should literally be no way they can stop you accessing it. Doesn't innerspace have it, and isn't he in the US? That makes no sense.

I meant it makes me sad when I hear about a sick cat. Well I'm glad she seems to be doing ok.

You really should stop posting this personal stuff Chula. I don't wish to be harsh, but apart from it being a bad idea, I doubt anyone here really wants to see it. Couldn't imagine it's doing you any good either. Just a thought.
