A dead bee (or probably actually a wasp) was hidden under a pile of comic magazines. I grabbed a bunch to put them on a shelf and got stung.

And yeah, kinda scary how noticeable it is that certain insects are less numerous...
Less numerous is one thing, the sheer absence of bees is just bizarre. I simply have not seen a single bee in years. They may very well be extinct in my area for all I know.

TL;DR

I live in the land of miss-fit toys. And it's kinda fun.
Definitely gonna come up in the eventual murder trial!

Aren't they endangered now? Honey bees, anyway...

It’s a disastrous combination of cell phone signals that deplete lipids and relatively new pesticides that are especially effective at destroying their nervous systems.

But don’t worry. We’re making fake bees!

There's a recent debacle happening in Denmark... The EU wanted to forbid certain pesticides that harm bees. Only two countries voted against: Ukraine and Denmark (shameful). Then, as the EU has deemed the pesticide illegal, the Danish government have provided farmers with a workaround to keep using it anyway... Our current right wing government is totally in the pockets of the farmers. It's like the US gov and the gun lobby.

Damn I found out when I was 15 or so that I'm allergic to bees, and I was advised to carry an epipen with me in case of emergency. I used to trip about it so much, sure that I couldn't avoid being stung, but I haven't been stung since. It's kind of like when you're a kid and you think quicksand is going to be a big problem in your life but then you grow up and you wish that was the only problem you had lol.

Still pretty happy there's no quicksand where I live though.

Creepiest 4 minutes, ever.

To think that cyber terrorism and technology are maybe 5-10 years away from something like this is terrifying.

Saw Chicago live last night (friend has given me a ticket as a gift). So goddamn good, especially the horn interplay. Even the 80s power ballads were heavy as hell in the live context.
