Most places will work out a payment plan before either sending it to collections, cutting into your paycheck, or suing you for it, since those things cost them money.

And speaking of people who need a little sympathy but get none there's a woman pushing forty who works at my job and just had a C-section. She worked through her pregnancy up till the last day and came back after like a week and was clearly not feeling too hot today. She was trying to play it off like she was fine even though she admitted she was hurting a bit but why the **** isn't there paid maternity leave in America? She's got stitches for ****'s sake.

You can let 1000 go to collections nothing will happen except you’ll get letters

They will not sue you for a thousand dollars

And if your income is low enough they’re not even allowed to garnish your wages if they did / and they know what you earn

As far as the ER goes I consider it socialized medicine because I do not pay and I’ve never paid a medical bill they didn’t collect at the time ever my entire life
