I have a friend who for some reason is a magnet for gay men and they always insist on buying him drinks even though he's honest about being straight. Sometimes they buy me drinks too because my friend and I are kind of symbiotic in public so they just kind of accept me as part of the bargain, it's great.

My friend who is gay always targeted "straight"guys. It's not at all a deterrent lol if anything it's just bonus points.

Well I'm all too familiar with the fantasy of turning straight people, but that's all it is in my case: a fantasy that I don't take seriously. Is it that they really expect it will work?

Really? That's amazing. I shouldn't be surprised really, virtually nobody is 100% straight or gay of course, but I thought queerness in guys was usually so suppressed that they would never act on it

Edit: I just realised that the obvious reason I've never understood gay people trying to hit on straight people is because of my experience of straight guys trying to hit on me even when I've said I'm gay. It rarely happens luckily, but god is it annoying
