Second frame is indeed sick and I like how it visually interacts with the obviously modern pop culture poster that still looks like a painting. There's a delightful element of subversion that doesn't feel like an attention seeking statement.

Thanks! Just so we're clear - that IS a real painting. One of a kind from a regional artist who did a lot of Frank Frazetta tribute work.

Yep! Painted and signed in '74. A common vintage for my decor.

Yeah and that's why it works. It's clearly modern pop culture but still functions with an antique frame. But with all those pictures combined in your first pic also being in antique frames it would matter less if any one of them looked too modern to be in an antique frame by themselves because the unity of a bunch of them being in antique frames would form a unified aesthetic.
