I have opened up to my boss a little bit about my family history since my brother died, and I think it made her see me as a real person lol. Like don’t get me wrong, I have no complaints and she’s a good boss, but all of a sudden she’s sending me emails with smiley faces and **** and taking extra time to thank me personally for doing things I’d be doing anyway.

What do you think, mb? Am I being pitied? Or does my boss want this p?

Sounds like time to ask for a raise.

the important question is, is she hot ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
also I doubt that stressing this is really necessary but if it isn't option B, it doesn't follow that it's just out of pity. I think that often when people label other people's treatment of them as pity they're unnecessarily hard on themselves. I'm very much thinking from my own experience, though. Whatever the reason is, it sounds like a good development

My rule of thumb is that what ever I think other people are thinking of me, it's probably wrong.

Yeah, I'd basically agree with this.

Sometimes people get so caught up in their own world, they forget that other people around them, on any given day, could be having one of worst days of their lives.

It sounds like your boss is trying to do little acts of kindness for you, knowing that you're going through a rough patch. I wouldn't think of it as pity, more like empathy.

(But what do I know)

My boyfriend has recently been going through genetic testing to check if he has the gene responsible for a hereditary illness, his results came back that he has inherited it. Feeing pretty low today. I really want to have a good cry but I don’t feel like I can if he’s around.

So it wasn't bacon, you liar.

I'm sorry to hear that. What type of illness?

She’s attractive enough, just a little too normie for my taste.

I get that concept, but no longer subscribe to this mentality. Everyone is thinking of me all the time.
