No. I don't want a woman to be in my life and my kid's life because I guilt tripped her into something she wasn't fully committed to. It's like joining the Army with the only reason to get better in shape. It's not a full commitment, and makes for weak soldiers.

Funnily enough the child in question is the only reason my ex joined the army.

I'll be happy when that man is 6 feet under.

there's more to the story but the dude's such a moronic asshole.

The mother of his child moved a few states away from where he calls "home" so hopefully he'll never have any contact with either of her sons (because he's a crazy piece of shit).

Furthermore my core values would be compromised by settling for someone who has a child (as I'm childfree by choice) and contrary to popular belief, opposites do not attract.
And this is why it's easier to raise cats instead of kids.

It's cool, i understand why you would want to avoid all that extra baggage. Can't say i blame ya.

Just got done holding a Jewish funeral for my cat. My (deist) Jewish friend came over with yarmulkes, put on that... rabbi scarf or whatever, and read from a Torah at the cat's grave. It was both tasteful and ridiculous.

This is the second such kitty funeral my friend has presided over.

Things have been cray lately. We are being forced to move from my current flat so the three of us are looking for a 5 bedroom house. Been to about 3 house viewings and we may have got one scored so fingers crossed. I've already started packing, cleaned the pantry and found 3 maggots, 2 alive, one dead. I have all my food wrapped carefully so it was protected but a fly must have laid an egg when the doors were open. I am so tired, it's hard doing things when you're in pain. Not looking forward to huge packing and moving it all.
