The quality of the torrent is

Cuthbert 02-11-2017 02:42 PM

Just done watching The Red Pill. Emotional.

Anybody else gonna check it?

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 02-11-2017 03:45 PM

i might watch it but i dont really have high expectations tbh. feel like the controvery is going to end up elevating the film a lot more than the actual quality.

Cuthbert 02-11-2017 03:46 PM

Na

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 02-11-2017 03:50 PM

well you've got me there

rostasi 02-11-2017 05:00 PM

lul, a documentary comes out highlighting men's issues and how they aren't taken seriously and your response is 'cry me a river' :D

Nice one.

There is like some history buff reference to the name. I scanned over the wikipedia page associated with the name but I didn't really pick up the reference too much.

Lawl I might as well avoid it. I rather not hear more men whining about how they are getting taken for granted. I'll call the Wahmbulance.

This documentary is definitely needed, your post and ros's prove it.

Shows how much you actually know as well

Several women are featured in it and the producer is a woman.

But if having your views challenged results in being triggered then yeah best to stay in your safe space mate

Frownland 02-12-2017 08:00 AM

Or maybe he's heard a lot of the insufferable whining that the movement is known for. Y'all would be annoying feminists if you were chicks.

blah blah blah snowflake safe space blah blah blah.

Typical response.

Hearing a bunch a men whine isn't challenging anything.

They are the exactly that but just on the other side of the spectrum. I might get around to watching it in a few days but it's not a priority imo.

I doubt it.

He doesn't know anything about the doc just wants to come in and piss on it.

Goofle 02-12-2017 08:09 AM

People asking for their problems to be listened to = insufferable whining.

Okay.

Frownland 02-12-2017 08:10 AM

Any groundbreaking new points made in the film?

Why don't you watch it and see for yourself?

Because I'm lazy and don't care for documentaries in general since they're generally preachy and built on half truths and fallacies and such. Does the movie offer anything that I wouldn't have read already on the internet?

Cuthbert 02-12-2017 08:20 AM

I don't know what you've read on the internet.

Again if you want answers there is nothing stopping you from watching the doc.

Depends which points you are aware of. I've brought up most of the stuff in here, but the documentary itself is more about the idea of compassion and the place Men's Rights holds in society, rather than banging you on the head with irrefutable facts.

Sounds like a load of emotionally driven anecdotes. I'm not about that feelings over facts nonsense :D.

Goofle 02-12-2017 09:04 AM

But you know the facts are on the Men's Rights side, which makes it extra interesting to see the ignorance.

Frownland 02-12-2017 09:17 AM

The facts are on everybody's side according to them. Kinda sounds like the case with most docs where the only people who really get invested in them are people already passionate about the subject.

Goofle 02-12-2017 09:32 AM

Facts are facts regardless of personal bias.

Frownland 02-12-2017 09:44 AM

Uh huh.

Yeah, I still don't get why he defends the rich so much.
You secretly a millionaire goof? Hit me up with some of that duckett.

I busted out laughing near the end when the guys were standing up to cry. Are those feelings? What happened to facts over feelings?

I'd never compare a movement promoting human rights with feminism.

I've tried to have this discussion many times on here and it's frankly boring. Watch the documentary if you guys want.

Frownland 02-12-2017 10:14 AM

That totally makes you look like you're not into this movement because of anti-feminist bitterness.

Goofle 02-12-2017 10:18 AM

I'm not against feminists. There's plenty of fine people who identify as feminists. I'm just against a few of the core principles of feminism. Most of this stuff is discussed in the documentary, it's well worth a watch.

There is a bit mean spiritedness to say that Goofle's brain is wired backwards. Maybe you lack a sense of justice and are not able to understand their position. If you are so closed minded that are not able to understand the hardships, inequality, and prejudices are pretty much spread across the board than maybe you should be quiet for a change and listen to what everyone has to say before bandying bout snaky comments.

Honestly I'm bored too. I don't agree with the **** you say but I'm sick of getting huffy with a guy I actually like over an internet argument.

DwnWthVwls 02-12-2017 11:14 AM

All I see in this thread is a bunch of people saying, "men are the most privileged therefore they don't have a right to change things about their position in society that are unfair".

If you're gonna make fighting for rights based on who needs it the most and not about people standing up for particular situations they most identify with then you should probably just fuck off. :D

I'll reserve my comments about how similar this is to whiny modern day feminists for when I see it. I suspect it will be more whiny and woe is me than intellectual and well argued.

Goofle 02-12-2017 11:37 AM

The statistics completely back up things like high male suicide rates, large differential in prison sentencing, work place deaths, close to parity in domestic violence etc. Also the fact that boys can have their genitals mutilated freely.

But your attitude is one to be commended.

grindy 02-12-2017 12:00 PM

We need to get over the need for simple narratives with designated good guys and bad guys.
This kind of thinking is a problem across the political spectrum and the number one reason I tend to stay away from politics and social activism.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 02-12-2017 12:34 PM

They aren't the same, but guided by the same biases.
I like politics to be about specific issues, not about ideologies.

Yeah, ideologies are just nationalism for ideas.

Women dream. Men finish.

Ol’ Qwerty Bastard 02-12-2017 12:46 PM

remember that time the people from BLM and the LGTBQ got mad at the women's march. why we gotta fight over who has it hardest? wouldn't it be more productive to like, discuss resolutions to the potential issues that exist.
