i have mormon missionaries and presidents from scandinavia in mine as well - i wonder if we're related

i actually haven't found evidence of anyone in my family having ever served in the military. i know my dad was rejected from joining the army after high school because he failed the psych exam, and his father was able to dodge the draft somehow. my mom's dad didn't serve either, but he did bring a lot of great coke into the country. everyone who immigrated through ellis island didn't settle until they reached idaho and utah, and otherwise it's all potato farmers from ireland and religious settlers from norway so well outside the area of the civil war. my baby brother just graduated and is joining the marines though.

bless the mormons for their record keeping tbh, half my ancestry is a total blackout, i truly cherish the records to which i do have access.
