Ya, seperate rooms for sure. Linda goes to bed usually a couple of hours before me so my "man cave" not only has a bed, but a big TV, sound system, and my guitar and recording gear. We're on opposite ends of the house so my lights and noise don't bother her one bit.

Separate bedrooms are almost always better. Living in the same house/apartment is entirely unnecessary, I think (even if you're married) unless you need to for financial reasons. Unless of course you both have very compatible living habits and similar decorating tastes.
