Nah I think "midget" has won its battle. It was years ago when there was controversy over midget vs. dwarf vs. little person, and I think everyone felt like it was weird calling someone a LOTR dwarf and "little person" was too much like "sanitation engineer" trying to clean up "janitor" so everyone just shrugged and kept saying "midget" cause who even knows any midgets? If people don't say it that much it's more because it's associated with dumb teenagers calling their friends retards and isn't sophisticated enough for the discerning adult.

Retard and midget were both acceptable and non deragatory terms for conditions

Both became iffy mainly cause us the condition itself that is unseemly not the terms themselves
