Also the irony is that for all the people who whine about edgelord material like Dave .. if they just ignored the first jokes he made about trans in 2017 then it might've ended there. At this point his career is being propped up by the people writing outraged articles about him just as much as it is by his actual fans

You know you can just admit that maybe he has a bad take on trans people. It's not like it's rare or aberrant.

It's not rare or aberrant and i don't know why you require me to "admit" anything.... I never said anything about him having great takes on trans u just don't seem to realize not everything revolves around having the best takes

But you don't do any kind of analysis about his takes, you just get defensive like he has to not be wrong for the sake of comedy's pride.

I thought he was a saviour of comedic traditions because of his insightfully subversive social commentary.

Well i read hyping him up a bit yeah the special wasn't that great but it was pretty funny

As for the legacy of comedy... It's not about Dave saving us or being any sort of martyr it's just that's the standard response to backlash against edgy comedy is to point out that it has always had that element sorta built into it .. that doesn't mean the edgy material is something that i would advocate for seriously....

He does have good social commentary though... The trans bit was far from his best material too it just got the most attention cause it's the topic of the decade apparently

1. Analysis of how you think his points should be interpreted.

2. If it's irrelevant then why are you sticking up for him every time this issue comes up? Shouldn't you just ignore this cause you don't care?
