Sorry to hear that ribbons. Take comfort in the fact that the vast majority of the people come out of it fine. She is probably young and otherwise healthy so I'm sure she'll be ok.

My sister is recovering btw, she had a "slight pneumonia" in both lungs, whatever that means, they started her on some medication and now, after about a week of breathing problems, she can breathe normally again.

She does have a strange flesh pain in her midsection, which I guess is just one of the normal if bizarre side effects of Covid. But as long as it's not respiratory, it should be ok.

Thank you so much, adidasss. I'm relieved to learn that your sister is recovering and that they're medicating her "slight pneumonia", as it's important to catch that early. As for the pain your sister has in her midsection, yes, that may be yet another bizarre side effect (and I hope that pain will subside for her soon); my daughter is having rather severe pain all down her rib cage on the left side only. Thanks again for your kind thoughts.

Ribbons, I'm sorry to hear that. How awful that she has to deal with the side pain too. I hope she'll get better soon and gets good care.
And I'm glad your sister is recovering adi

Scientists urge concern, not alarm over new virus strains (from @AP) https://apnews.com/article/602511040...90ee9ae7527276

“We don’t want to overreact,” the U.S. government’s top infectious disease expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci, told CNN.
Yeah Fauci because overreacting is our big problem. It’s not the chronic stupidity of inaction for everything from public health to environmental degradation to a completely failed education system that’s the problem. It’s all the alarmist overreaction. Clearly we need more level headed people to tell us inaction is the best course. It serves us so well.

Death Count: 320,000

Don’t overreact.

Very sorry to hear that ribbons. I hope she recovers quickly and will be okay. I assume you're then self-isolating? What a pain, just before Christmas too. Bless her for putting her safety on the line for others.

I think paranoia about Covid is already at terrifying levels, and the fear might be that if he says THIS IS TERRIBLE people might take it as well the vaccine's ****ed so no point wearing this mask any more. Keep in mind, you're Americans. He's just being cautious but you note he didn't say anything about not keeping up what you're/we're all supposed to be doing anyway.

He’s advocating not implementing a ban on UK travel until we know what’s going on which is the exact opposite of what we should do. You freeze ****. Find out what’s up and then go from there. 30 countries, all who have done better than America have already taken this approach. You can’t wait until you know about it because there’s not a second to spare. One day is potentially 100,000 deaths one day too late.

As far as the vaccine goes people who don’t want it should just be held down and jabbed. That’s simple af. We don’t have time to **** with complicity with idiots any longer.

Oh, ribbons, I'm so sorry to hear that your daughter is ill. I hope she sleeps a lot and improves. She has her youth, and statistics, on her side but of course it must be so worrying for you. Take care, both of you - and yes, your daughter is a hero as TH says.
