Alice in Chains - Again - Lyrics Meaning

Alice in Chains is an awesome rock band that's from the great state of Washington. The band consists of Jerry Cantrell, Sean Kinney, Mike Inez and lead singer William DuVall. Legendary singer and former lead vocalist Layne Staley died from a drug overdose in 2002.

The song was released during 1996. Jerry Cantrell wrote the song and it became a huge success. Jerry Cantrell puts a lot of thought into what he writes; a lot of it is based on feelings and past experiences. The song 'Again' isn't much about his past but more about feeling. There seems to be a theme about the song. The song could describe two individuals who are having an argument or perhaps having a few complications.

The lyrics describe trust and anger. Here are a few lines of lyrical content: "Hey, I know I made the same mistake, yeah. I, I won't do it again, no. Why, why you slap me in the face, oww." You can tell there's conflict in the lyrics and there are at least two individuals involved. The song continues with the discord. The song has rooted in distrust and for that person, they claim not to do it again or try not to anyway.
