Just finished High Fidelity. I enjoyed the book, even if it left me in a horribly depressed mood. I just have one thing to say...

Spoiler for Spoilers:
What was with the second chapter from the end? From the way he was talking about marriage and commitment, it almost sounded like he was talking about Laura and coming to the conclusion that he wanted to stay with her, but he was saying this to some random chick and asking her to marry him. I assume that he's supposed to be confused and scared about commitment and is just jumping at the first girl that strikes his fancy, but trying to justify leaving an important relationship with a woman who's just done something huge for him by acting like he's just completely fallen in love at first site. Then he never seems to deal with this afterward and I'm left wondering just what the hell is going through his head and what it's supposed to mean for the end of the book.

Jam by Yahtzee Croshaw

It's a post-apocalypse novel about an organic eating strawberry-like jam substance that invades Brisbane Australia. So far it has been pretty funny and well written, but I'm just about half-way and I'm kind of wishing it was over. The main character has literally no personality, which is an active part of his character arc, but it still makes for hard read when there's just nothing there. Still if you're a fan of Terry Pratchett or Douglas Adams, you'll get a lot out of this and his previous novel, Mogworld.

I just bought The Autobiography of Martin Luther King Jr.
Has anyone read it?

If it's an autobiography I would assume he doesn't die at the end.
