I didn't read all of the pages but did anyone mention Toe Jam and Earl? I'd love to see them again and updated. I don't even remember which company they were associated with though.

All of the games are developed by a company now called Toe Jam & Earl Productions. But the games are all published by Sega and I'm pretty sure Sega owns the rights.

Toe Jam & Earl would be cool. But there are other Sega characters I would like to see too. Like NiGHTs, Alex Kidd, Shinobi, Nei (from Phantasy Star 2), Ristar, Vectorman and Wonder Boy. They might all have a shot as assist trophies if Sakurai to include Sega and Konami characters not from the Sonic and Metal Gear games. And since all of these characters are appearing on the virtual console I don't see why not.

Some Konami characters I would like to see as assists would be Goemon, Sparkster, the Vic Viper, the two guys from Contra and Simon Belmont.

Yeah, thats not happening, and for good reason. Nintendo aren't going to add characters owned by their competition, that would just be stupid.

Though Microsoft dosen't own Halo and Devil May Cry dosen't belong to Sony it belongs to Capcom, Dante hasn't appeared on any nintendo platforms so while a character like Mega Man has very good odds of inclusion, Dante dosen't.
