I think I fell asleep during Gladiator - only woke up during the fight with tigers which was mildly interesting

saw Sucker Punch, long story short, i liked it, but i totally get people who don't, but a solid 7/10 for me.

^ Despite the endorsement from Empire Magazine there, I love this film. That was about the 5th time I've seen it as well. True, the ending's pretty lame, but this is a great example of what vampires should actually be when they're on the big screen, ie scary, psychotic mass-murderers with an unstoppable bloodlust and superhuman strength who'll stop at nothing to just kill anything that moves.

Clint does tend to fall back on cliches as a director sometimes, but as you say it never really affects the quality of the whole film. The only examples I can think of where he eats his own tail if you will as director's with Space Cowboys and Invictus, which I still thought were far from being bad movies nonetheless.

Yeah, I watched them both a few months back. Flags Of Our Fathers is a very good war movie, but I wouldn't call it brilliant exactly. I absolutely loved Letters From Iwo Jima, to the point that along with Unforgiven it's my favourite film that Clint's directed. Definitely worth a watch.

Saw Gummo on a recommendation from theuglyorgan. Probably the weirdest movie I've seen, but I liked it for that. There were lots of very memorable scenes. I wouldn't say I was blown away though. It's one of those ones that you appreciate but don't really enjoy, and it leaves you feeling kind of depressed in the end. Solid film though.

I saw the scene in the picture even before I saw the movie and it still makes me want to puke.
