Phantom Limb 04-14-2012 03:39 PM

This movie was GREAT. I got really excited once I found out that this movie has a 73 on metacritic. It didn't let me down in the slightest, in fact it exceeded my expectations. I can't really say too much about it because I don't wanna give anything away, but this movie definitely flips the horror genre on it's head. It was fantastic, it has everything a good horror movie needs. It made me laugh out loud, jump out of my seat, and cringe at the massive amounts of gore. I love this movie! I'll probably go see it again during the week cause it was so awesome.

9/10

If you like horror movies you owe it to yourself to go see this.

Pretty much every David Cronenberg movie, etc.

You forgot Atom Egoyan :( The Sweet Hereafter and Exotica are excellent films.

saw this on TV:-

how do you present an amoral basically non-sympathetic character in a movie? make it a mystery. It's mostly a case of who shot who and for what.

For its defense, Timothy Olyphant does portray Agent 47 with a poignant touch, coloring his stoic professionalism with shades of humanity but still mostly a time-waster.

5/10

bless tims heart, he did everything he could with the cardboard silhouette videogame character. When you have a fucking barcode tattooed on your head i imagine it would be hard to evoke anything convincingly yet he still manages to pull it off some of the time. The girl was nice too.

I can only cite stuff I've actually seen, but I will put those choices on my list of movies to see.

do you like horror movies? this movie was made for you!.....there are more odes to classic characters from Clive Barker to HP Lovecraft than any film i've ever seen.....all this and an actual original plot!!!!! HOLY SHIT:yikes:

anyways like Phantom Limb said i don't want to ruin anything except to say that this movie rocked my socks off....and i will be seeing it again at least once if not twice before it leaves the theaters

there was one point that i actually had to relax and take a deep breathe to try and control the tears

this may be my film of the year

Will have to check that out. Someone I know is already hyping it... because she is a huge Heather Lagenkamp fan (who was on the production team).

Looks like I'm going to have to go see Cabin in the Woods. The trailers made it look bland to me, but it looks like I was wrong.

BastardofYoung 04-15-2012 04:40 PM

Oh man, go to IMDB page on it and look at the FAQ and see all the monsters in the movie.... it is an all-star cast of monsters.

Looks generic, but reading the plot and seeing all the monsters shows it is a lot more.

it is soooo worth seeing
