Yesterday I finally saw...

Drive (2011)
I thought it was great! Excellent characters, beautiful filmmaking, and such an interesting mood. The dreaminess punctuated by extreme violence felt very unique to me and the tone of the movie reminded me of very little else that I've seen.

Play Misty for Me (1971)
Also a great movie. I had been meaning to see it forever and was not disappointed. In addition to being creepy and perfectly paced, it had some great local details that really made me miss living in California, including one scene in a restaurant in Monterey where I've actually eaten before.

This is my favorite kill in the entire series. But "Dream Warriors" ranks 3rd in my overall favorite in the series... the original and New Nightmare coming before. All the ones with Heather in them.

My order would go:

A Nightmare...
New Nightmare
Dream Warriors
Dream Master
Freddy's Revenge
Dream Child
Freddy's Dead

not counting remake or FvJ.

That's my favorite scene..even as a child i was never scared of Freddy but the places he send his victims to and how he kills them always seemed spooky to me..how he would use your weakness against you til you were dead.
Do you remember on The Dream Master how he tracked joey by using a girl in his waterbed? getting joey to fall for the bait since he's such a horndog lol

My top 3 would be:

Dream Warriors
Freddy's Revenge (I wonder why so many people hate that sequel)
A Nightmare on Elm Street

Have you guys seen Halloween 3? That's another underrated movie.

Brilliant, but I don't think I've been this shocked and disturbed by a film in a long time. The film deals with some very difficult subject matter such as child sexual abuse and male prostitution and can be very uncomfortable to watch at times. Some scenes are downright disturbing. However Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Brady Corbet both give excellent performances and the soundtrack is top-notch, featuring the likes of Slowdive, Cocteau Twins, Curve and Sigur Ros.

You only just caught Drive? Stunning film and I bought it 2 days after renting it I was that impressed and the soundtrack is killer too. Have you seen any other Winding Refn films?
