You knew this movie was gonna suck, I knew this movie was gonna suck, everyone knew the new Ghost in the Shell was gonna suck. Shock: it did. Hard. Like, omg how was this greenlit? This movie was so warmed over as Ghost in the Shell that it stopped feeling like warmed over Ghost in the Shell and started feeling like a pitiful student film attempt at warming over Blade Runner with adapted video game cutscenes. Obviously the original Ghost in the Shell was heavily influenced by Blade Runner, but here the execution was so lazy and shoddy that the illusory veil was lifted and the original original source material felt cheapened. It's not even worth it to get into all the ways this movie failed (I'll leave that to those better suited anyway), but just know that you should just go watch the original movie, TV show, or just ****ing Blade Runner. Literally the ONLY worthwhile thing about this movie was... Spoiler for spoiler:
**** this movie though. Totally wish I'd seen Power Rangers.

You could have simple said that GITS is just being released and Power Rangers as been out for a bit and might be leaving theaters soon and boom you could have had fun in Power Rangers.

Was late and I was fine with seeing the shorter movie. Really the only reason I didn't argue.

I'm not sure whether this type of post is allowed or not, but can someone recommend me something to watch? I will watch whatever replies I get right away and reply with what I thought about it, at least for 2-3 days. That'd be cool if somebody wants to make me watch something absolutely horrific.
Also, I'm currently watching The Station Agent. Gonna watch On the Silver Globe Next. Watched The Clockwork Orange for the first time last night and I loved it. Anybody wants to suggest something, literally anything, that's cool. In "that" kind of mood right now, the sponge type, you know? I'll give more a more in depth analysis if somebody suggests something. |

If you're in the mood, you could even make it a triple-feature with the addition of these two mondo movies... Mondo pazzo (1963) - IMDb Mondo Bizarro (1966) - IMDb Quote:

Also watched this earlier this week: One of the better horror movies I've seen in a while. Great unusual classic metal soundtrack, fantastic camerawork/editing throughout, solid acting, and surprisingly short, but short in the positive sense that they've trimmed all of the fat and every moment counts.
