I watched 'The Box' last night with Cameron Diaz...didn't like it, wasn't anything I thought it would be. It got all weird towards the end, very science fiction like.

I saw Zombieland last weekend. It was pretty ****in' funny.
But something I saw that was tripped out beyond all belief was Howl's Moving Castle. http://www.impawards.com/2005/poster...ing_castle.jpg ****in' CRAZY!! It got cheesy toward the end with the dialogue, though. |
Brazil doesn't make sense. Maybe you have to be British to enjoy it? I have no idea, I just know that I was glad when it was over...

And what do you mean it doesn't make sense? It's a kooky movie but the story is relatively straightforward. |
Brazil is actually one of my favourite films as well.. And I'm also not a brit. ;)

The first time I saw Brazil, I thought it was a bit chaotic and all over the place. It was still a positive experience that definetly left an impression with me, especially the ending. However, it wasn't until a couple of years later when I watched it for the second time that it really clicked with me. I felt like I really got it. I think roughly knowing the overall plot and the direction the movie takes helps you see more details and some of the things that are buried just a little deeper and so when I recommend it to people, I always mention they should watch it again sometime later in life. :p: Out of the Terry Gilliam films, The Fisher King is my favourite by a gnat's whisker. I've connected with and love the plot and characters in that movie more than in any other drama I've seen although I'll admit that Brazil is the more interesting of the two. Both these are films I've owned now for years that I watch again now and then. I make sure I don't get tired of them, though. |

I much prefer the title Brazil which of course is a reference to the song Aquarela Do Brasil (now usually just called Brazil) .. which is used in the movie to represent Sam's dream of love and freedom from the suffocating society he is and becomes more so a victim of. |
