avatar? story was so so but i think it delivers on being epic. dark knight was pretty epic also.

I know you're not asking me, but I saw Troy in the cinema and hated it (a few of my mates liked it though), and Scarface is decent, if a little overrated. The ending's top of the pile stuff though.

I'm very pessimistic about troy so far. I've been told it's excellent though, so I may as well watch it while I have it :)

Scarface is a favourite, due to his last scene. Truly grand. I think I watched that part more than 7 times, and the whole movie just twice. The rest of the movie, is kind of a less good version of Carlito's way lol.

I think it's time I watch the original Scarface... I need to keep that in mind next time I go to the shop.

I feel very "Meh" about it too :( I've heard scarface is incredible, thought i'd ask you since you do media (or something along those lines) in uni. My friend says the ending is tremendous. He's obsessed by it :) the one with Al Pacino that is, is that the original or not?

Love it, love it, love it. But I agree with Bulldog - Meet the Parents is his best rom-com. Meet the Fockers was pretty good as well, but not as good :)

Pocahontas with battle scenes, but yeah - it was entertaining, so I agree. ;)

I was actually thinking of "historical" epics or what you wanna call it, though, sorry for not being specific .. Although those movies of course are mostly still based on fantasy. Especially King Arthur, didn't even seem like it was based on the sagas!

edit :

It might have been the best of that bunch for me as well, although it still bored me. Alexander was the worst!

The original is directed by Howard Hawks, and released in 1932.

Meet the Parents is an actual gem. I liked seeing Barbra in that second one, the chimichungas were pretty hilarious. But that first one, talk about frustration!

:nono: You need to see it right this minute! I like both of those movies because they deal with issues everyone can relate to in a humourous way.

Awesome movie, but such a mind twister, I didn't know what to think with the ending.

Absolutely terrible. Would it have hurt to get Sam Worthington some vocal coaching? Pretty sure Perseus wouldn't have had a bogan Aussie accent. This movie was full of big, pointless action scenes and suffered in every other aspect. Historical discrepancies (e.g. characters saying "What the hell" when it wasn't called Hell in those legends but instead Hades), terrible editing, pointless scenes that didn't go anywhere, it didn't make sense and it was just stupid and boring.

Yeah. The original was awesome, but the best thing about it was the Ray Harryhausen effects.

So, when they remake that movie, and replace it's main draw with the same generic CGI that every summer blockbuster has, what do you expect?
