I liked Old a lot more than most too, I don't know I guess I just vibe with M. Night's goofy ass modern style.

Yeah Old was great, I liked The Visit a lot too (do you think M Night wrote the little kid's bars?) Maybe Knock took itself too seriously for the "dumb but very entertaining" appeal his movies have for me. And then they slapped a corny ending on it.

I found an article saying that she was the second unit Director on Old but maybe she wasn't involved with Knock at the Cabin like that I thought.

The ending of Knock definitely sucked. Loved the first 90 minutes, hated the final 10. Book ending was much better

I’m about to walk into a “Mystery Movie Monday” which is a pretty cool concept actually. It appears to be shockingly popular, the theater is packed

Mystery movie as in you have no idea what it's going to be or mystery movie as in like a whodunit?

I liked about the first 20 minutes where they started going into the backstories. It's what I was referring to with the effective melodrama.

One thing I remember is the flashbacks being really poorly written. Do they work better in the book?

We had no idea what we were gonna see, other than "it's a 2023 release that's coming soon"

It ended up being "Paint," a mediocre comedy where Owen Wilson looks like Bob Ross but he's not Bob Ross and he's kind of a dick. It got a couple laughs out of me. Some of the people in the theater laughed a lot so I guess it's a brand of comedy that will work for some.
