it's hefty and dry but a really well designed RPG with a world that feels interactive and alive

I put out a fire that was blocking my path with an ice spell that I may not even have had in my party if I was running different classes, then I try to run past it only to have my mage slip and knock herself out for a few seconds on the ice 10/10 immersion

leveling system is fantastic with perks that require meaningful trade-offs, and a good mix of combat and outside of combat skills

the gear similarly is a lot to pour over but is always offering me meaningful choices, do I want a bit of extra hp with this item or do I want the 8% block chance on this other one, and it looks like a ludicrous amount of weapon types can be crafted whenever I get around to that

making certain dialogue choices with your characters will give them traits that provide small bonuses and your characters can even disagree and debate over the right course of action in a given scenario

I'm playing on the difficult Tactical mode, so every combat encounter has had me sweating like Microsoft Chess on high intermediate, but the normal mode option exists for those not wanting to strain themselves

only criticism is I don't find the main plot super engaging, but how important is that really in a game like this, especially when even many random NPCs have their own charm and personality
