Mario Kart is the only racing game in history that has ever interested me.
I love that its chaotic but you’ll still usually win if you’re the best player. I’ve played quite a bit of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for Switch online...just checked my stats and in 163 races I’ve gotten 60 1st places, 25 2nd places, and 17 3rd places (it doesn’t track anything beyond that). So 63% of the time in a race with 11 other humans I get at least top 3. |

So if your Wii can play a Gamecube game, it can play any Gamecube game. |
Then I'm good. Whenever I finally pick up a Gamecube controller my Wii will probably become my favorite system that I own, but I still haven't. I'm still very much looking forward to playing those Resident Evil Gamecube ports.

Especially since Pod Racer exists.

Honestly I just prefer to game with a controller when I'm sitting back from a bigger TV rather than right up on a smaller computer screen.

You can PC game with a controller (though you'd need an adapter for a gamecube controller). And if your TV isn't super old, you can wire the output to it and use it as a display.

I'd need an HDMI hookup right? If so then my TV is super old. And I know I can PC game with a controller but I always end up sitting in a way that's awkward and ****s with my gimp shoulder.

Technically, you can output using composites. It's just that you'd probably need to buy two wires to do it (comp. out. to composite, and then composite female to composite male as an extension). Hell, even a lot of CRTs can handle that. As long as your TV takes more than just coaxial, and even then, nowadays you can probably adapt that too.
