Sonic Frontiers
I'd talk about this in my journal but I'm currently doing N64 month and I wanted to talk about this. I played a few hours last night and have come to the consensus that this game is not bad. It's not amazing or groundbreaking butit's good, its fun, Sonic runs fast and controls well, most of the time. Cut scenes are a bit cheesy but nothing cringeworthy. The open world feels nice to run through despite things feeling repetitive. I dont mind repetitiveness though if the overall experience is still good. Probably the first actually good Sonic game in a long time. |

Recently was coming out of the lost river and heard the ghost leviathan sound kinda close so I turned around in the Seamoth and it was just right ****ing there in my face chasing me. Scared the **** outta me.

About a month ago, I was in the throes of mono with a continous three weeks of fever which kept me away from work. During that time, I discovered and started to play Sea of Thieves, the open world pirate game from Rare which came with my Windows/Xbox gamepass.
What actually drew me in was the feeling of just sailing the boat through the waves which just feels great and very immersive. I'd never played a game with somewhat realistic ocean physics and feel before. You can even get sea sick, like for real. Brilliant! Supposedly the game was a bit thin in terms of content when it debuted, but we're now 8 seasons in and there's been more than enough to do to keep me interested. I've also been playing it a bit with my 6 year old who's a great bilge rat, repairing the boat and feeding our pets while I do the battling and heavy lifting. It's a lot of fun!

Yooooo you won't believe this, but I've wanted to play that game for a long time - and I was so set on playing a new horror game with my wife the day that Callisto came out that I finally decided to pick this one up instead! It's absolutely great! Really gives me those old school Resi/Silent Hill vibes. And for $20, it's a much better value proposition than Callisto is.
