I'll be tackling Sands of Time now that I've finished Beyond. From what I hear, it's excellent so I'm looking forward to it :)

That too. ;) But by no means would it be my sarcasm.

Oh no. Absolutely not.

What sarcasm?

Yeah, it's a terrific game. It has such amazing atmosphere and the controls are some of the most user-friendly I've ever encountered.

Its a bummer they paused development on the sequel. That video that leaked made it look pretty sick.

I have no time for video games anymore. :(

I've been playing de Blob lately. This game is a super fun time.

Alfred 09-11-2009 03:48 PM

Tried that yesterday. I guess I'm too spoiled by Mario Galaxy because I didn't really get into it. :(

shush not true...there are many adult gamers that have learned to time manage very well and still game.

I'm midway through FF7 right now then I plan to start up FF9 again. I have yet to beat it.

Guybrush 09-12-2009 02:41 AM

Noone likes FF8? I did :(

I thought Rinoa was pretty sweet for a CG chick at the time. Too bad your main guy Squall is a clueless tit. Still a great game, though, I thought!

The Longest Journey

I bought this off Steam earlier today because it's been awhile since I've played a point and click adventure game and I'm not sure if my computer can handle the newest Monkey Island games. So far I'm impressed, the voice acting is good, the puzzles are challenging but in a good way, and it's not very hard to jump onto the train of logic that the game designer was on. My only real complaint so far is how slow April moves, I swear it takes her like a minute and a half just to walk across one middle section that connects all the outside sections. Just beat the first chapter and only had to consult gamefaqs once so I'm doing OK.

I just did something last night that I am not proud of. My friends and I did a 4 on 4 age of empires multiplayer fight or whatever. It was intense, but it was like one of the most nerdy things ever. oh well...

You've obviously never played Risk before then.

I also picked up another game off Steam (because where else are you going to find old PC games?)

game based on H.P. Lovecraft and made by Bethesda Studios? I pretty much came buckets

One thing about the game that I think is so cool is the way musical flourishes are added to the song as you paint. I mean whoever created the music for that game is some kind of genius, because it always sounds like it fits right in with what's happening musically no matter when in the song you paint something. And it's also really neat how all the songs start of very minimal and then layer after layer as you paint. Plus to me the whole concept of splashing paint everywhere is just fundamentally enjoyable.

It's a great game, quite challenging but not ridiculously unforgiving and so it's an easy game to pick up and play.

The gameplay is quite unique but the goal is like Metroid. It's all about exploration, upgrading your weapons and shooting everything that moves.

It gets my seal of quality. :thumb:

The fact that it had levels you played both in and out of your vehicle was very unique at the time. I remember thinking that was really cool back in the day.

Bucky O Hare for the NES.

This game has infinite continues and checkpoints and thank god because it's ball crushingly hard. Very fun though.

My first time playing Final Fantasy.

Janszoon 09-14-2009 10:13 PM

I bought MadWorld and Elebits the other day. I'm loving MadWorld so far because, well, I'm a really visually oriented person and it's absolutely fantastic visually, but also because it one of those games you can pick up and have fun playing for a short amount of time if you want without feeling like you're missing out by not making some long commitment. Elebits I'm still not totally sold on, I like the concept but the execution isn't as fun as I was hoping. For one thing the controls are annoying as fuck and for another I really hate the time limits on the levels, it would've been way better without them or at least with much longer limits.

Madworld has a very Frank Miller-ish look which is all the rage these days. But it does have a very unique visual style for a game and it's one I certainly want to try out.

Yeah, Frank Miller plus a bit of Mike Mignola. Honestly the guy you control in MadWorld has such a similar look to Hellboy that it almost goes beyond homage and into rip off territory but it's still a great looking game. And it's really fun to play.

Yeah, I'm gonna check that one out sooner or later.

Anyway, it's the 10th anniversary of the Dreamcast, Sega should celebrate by... I dunno, rereleasing some of it's games for the next gen consoles? That would be killer.

Laces Out Dan! 09-14-2009 10:34 PM

I'll be parked in front of the TV for a good while as of tomorrow. I get to pick up my copy of NHL10 I pre-ordered a couple months back.

The only reason I'm not playing 8 is because I bought it used on the first disc is screwed up. I barely get past the story line intro and it freezes. So I haven't experienced any of the gameplay from FF8

if I had a paladin, I would arena more but it's useless as a shadow priest so I don't even bother. I stick to pvp'ing in bgs with my welfare pvp gear.

This is my toon in raid gear.

What's the difficulty like on The Beatles Rock Band? I can't imagine it'd be too hard to play considering the simplicity of The Beatles songs to begin with...
