apparently not...

setting up MMM and fook together was annoying to say the least. instead, i opted for MMM and FWE. after hours of setting up mods, i'm finally ready to play!

i'm not used to mods being such a pain in my ass.

Strange. I didn't have any issues installing Fook2. I have a ton of other mods too and have no conflicts.
I was looking into FWE, but I don't think it plays well with Fook.

Anyway, have fun!

Also Thrice, Borderlands and Fallout 3 really aren't similar that much. I guess they both could be called RPG-FPS hybrids but Borderlands leans way more to the FPS side while Fallout 3 leans way more to the RPG side. Personally I think Fallout 3 is a much greater game in terms of style, story and general feel and I'd definitely recommend as long as you're not just looking for a straight up shooter, but Borderlands is way fun for what it is (till you get to the ending. That just sucked balls (Course the Fallout 3 one did too. I really need Broken Steel)).
Thanks. I haven't been playing many vid games the last few years other than Madden and FIFA. I played B-lands and loved the variety of weapons you could get and the skill tree. I think the weapons were really the thing that tied the games together in my mind. I hear you can customize the weapons in Fallout, and that alone draws me into trying it out.

Male men? Are there other kinds of men?

You can in Fallout: New Vegas, but not Fallout 3.
Don't let that stop you from playing Fallout 3, though.

If you have the PC version, there are weapon modification kits by way of community mods. Haven't tried any, but I hear they're good. Your basic silencers, scopes, red-dot sights, extended mags, etc. All fully integrated and balanced (aka, if you add a silencer, your damage goes down...etc).

Yeah, the weapons are pretty much the selling point of Borderlands. Fallout 3 is about a whole lot more than just the weapons, but while you can't customize them (without mods etc) it is possible to craft your own unique versions of mundane weapons and repair all your gear, which is not a feature implemented in Borderlands. Overall.... just get Fallout 3, and enjoy the **** out of it. It's awesome.

Oh and Freebase was posting earlier about tips and whatnot. I'll just echo what he said, especially the small guns and repair thing. You can't really go wrong with those skills, though there's nothing wrong with trying a melee/explosives or weird energy weapons type build or something. It just won't be as easy. And while I agree it's nice to play evil and kill traders and whatnot... don't nuke Megaton at the beginning, unless you want to cut yourself out of a nice bastion/quest place. And make sure to get the medicine bobblehead at the very beginning in the tutorial. It's on your dad's desk right after the annoying friend wakes you up.

Right now I'm playing alot of GTA 4 and I just started playing Bioshock for the first time. Such a crazy game, I really like it. I can't wait to get Fallout: New Vagas though.
