I really want to play Spec Ops: The Line because a lot of people in the video game reviewing/ commentary circles I follow say it's the real deal in terms of story and turning the modern military shooter on it's head. I feel bad because I found out what the big shocking moment of the game is without having played it yet, but I am still sure this is a game I need to play.

Does 'Hide the Pickle' count as a game?

Because I'm a cheap bastard I have waited until now to start playing TF2. Training against computers is great fun.
I just did my first multiplayer game though, and got my ass handed to me. I thinlk got killed over ten times by the same damn pyro.
Of course, I probably shouldn't be playing as a sniper yet considering I don't really know the fields.

Yea, I usually get owned in TF2 but I'm pretty damn good at CS (2.25+ K : D in CS:GO).

I've probably played a total of 5h of that game total.

Think I might try finish Assassin's Creed: Revelations today so I can go on to RE 5 or DMC4 (even though it's a disappointment and quite boring). For some reason I hate leaving games half finished.

Rage is lying in my stash too. I hope it's good, it does look wicked.

If you're giving TF2 a try for the first time I would start by trying out the Heavy (point gun at things, things die), Medic (easy way to make friends and get into the habit of playing for the team before all else) or Soldier (easy to play on a basic level, very, very, hard to master). Sniper isn't necessarily a difficult class but you have to be able to get a headshot on virtually every attempt to truly be useful as him.

Protip: if it's your first time in TF2, DO NOT PLAY SNIPER. it isn't like CoD where you can lone wolf a match by quickscoping constantly, the Sniper is mainly a support class and unless you're good with headshots you won't be that much of a credit to your team.

but yeah, playing Heavy isn't a bad start, but you really have to watch your back to keep from getting backstabbed all the time, plus you're SLOOOOOOWWWWW.

Soldier is a good class for all beginners but like Circe said mastering Soldier is pretty difficult, especially when it comes to stuff like rocket jumping.

Pyro's not bad either if your aim is kind of crap, but know when

really, I could talk about this game forever but I would just say look up some guides on playing the classes you want to start with and it should help you out.

I'm not sure if I'd actually recommend looking up class guides. Watching them when Ifirst started had me trying to rocket jump with the Soldier from the beginning. To this day I still haven't mastered it. Pyro is another good starter, although everyone will hate you when you first start playing her. Just remember you have buttons other than W+M1 and you'll get the hang of actually being useful.

I finished it yesterday. I won't spoil it, but it gets better (as in: more depressing) as the game goes on. Some visuals are simply stunning (a panorama of Dubai swallowed by the desert is just marvelous), some are utter **** (explosions in this game look like they forgot about them and inserted some from a 10 year old game at the last moment). There are several forks in the road in the story, I will get back into it to complete it again, this time not trying to be good and failing miserably, but actually being good. I wonder if there is a happy end here and I don't want to spoil the fun by going to youtube.
This game actually made me feel bad for what I've done, and i was sure that was impossible by now.
Oh, and finally - the shooting is fun and even rewarding, but rather unoriginal (except for the what, 5 or so places you can break glass and let the sand pour in) and chaotic - the same button is used to jump over cover and for a hand to hand attack - I died more than once hitting a wall instead of jumping over it... So if you plan to skip the cutscenes, don't care about the story and just want to shoot - you won't like this.
Yac.
