Anyone ever played Europa Universalis 3? It's pretty cool, in my opinion. The 4th one is coming out now.

That is quite a lot of band going on there. I have never played that KH game, which means it must be one of the ones not released on PS2? I missed out...

tough call...

I'm going to go with Borderlands 2 on ps3 and X-Com:Enemy Unknown on pc. At least they're the best games I played this year.

Also I apparently got 6 copies of DOTA 2 in Steam this week. Anyone who wants one just hit me up in a PM or add me to Steam (search for 'panbient' same avatar).

I have a ton of dota invites too.

To be honest, the only ones that weren't released on the PS2 that are actually worth playing were Chain of Memories, Birth by Sleep, and Dream Drop Distance. 358/2 Days was alright (aside from having a couple of missions that involved defeating this one really annoying type of Heartless), but Coded was unnecessary IMO.

My favorite game from last year would be The Walking Dead, although I'll admit that I've only played a few of the games that were released last year.

Darksiders

So for Christmas my cousin got me an Xbox 360, and I've been catching up on the various games that I've missed out on the first time around. Darksiders is something I never thought I'd be into, but I wanted to take a chance on a large form game like this and man am I glad I did. I takes the combat and gore of the God of War games and combines them with dungeon style puzzle solving a la Legend of Zelda. The combat feels great and the game is challenging enough to not feel like a chore but not so much that it seems annoying impossible.

Also, have been playing these

This is the first game I bought for Xbox Live and was one of the main reasons I wanted a 360. At first this seems like a cute 2d platformer with a mechanic that makes a 2d/3d world in order to solve puzzles, but once you really start to explore it there's SO much more to it that you may not even realize. I'm not going to spoil anything, but I highly recommend that you try and explore everything in the game to get the full experience.

Skate 3

Let me say right now that I have been a massive fan of the Tony Hawk pro skater games since buying the third installment for my Gamecube when I was a kid. Still, as someone who's currently getting back into skateboarding, I have to say that this game has won my heart. the flick-it mechanic and different controls for trick variations is just genius and it makes the entire experience so authentic for people into skateboarding. The first time I put this in the disk drive I played it for a little while and before I realized it 6 hours had passed.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent

Admittedly, I'm a little late to the party, but i've been playing this the last couple days. Really been enjoying the story. The suspense and scare factor are pretty top notch. Kind of curious to see how it will end.

Keep an eye out for Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs which is suppose to be coming out sometime this quarter.

Looks like more of the same, but considering survival-horror as a genre really doesn't exist in the AAA market anymore, I'll take what I can get.

Now that Steam is available on Linux I actually got this one downloaded as well, and may finally get around to beating it.
