I believe I saw at least 2 separate occasions during the last 3 or so months when several EA games were really, really cheap when bought through Origin, bf3 included. Since I preordered mine I didn't pay that much attention to them though ..
Imo Bad Company 2 is great to, if you don't want to spend a lot of $, better than any CoD clone imo, after all these years.

Dead Space 3

Im still in the early going but its pretty great so far. Way more intense than any of the previous entries, its way more like a thrill a minute action flick now but theres still some scares. The gameplay is the best of the series.

Dead Space

Bought this on the Xbox Live store for $14.99 today and I'm enjoying it more than when I played it a few years ago on the PS3. While I wouldn't say it's a particularly scary game, there's a good amount of tension and it does play to the whole "body-horror" thing pretty well as you have you grisly dismember your enemies. I also really like the HUD, which neatly integrates your health level, stasis charge, and ammo count without clogging up the screen with ugly GUI's. I also really like that the game never really uses cinematic cut scenes, and gives the player full control while people are talking. I also like how the stasis items have tactical value in combat, giving you the edge you need when you get swarmed. Overall it's a pretty well designed game and one of the better original IP's to come out of this generation, although that said from what I've read on the sequels I may just keep it contained to this one game.

It's pretty unlikely PS4 will be that expensive, Sony dug themselves a huge hole right off the bat pricing the PS3 $200 above the competition, and they spent the rest of the gen catching up. They were discovering how to implement blu-ray for the first time, and they spent a lot of money including backwards compatibility in the system. They'd be foolish to repeat the same mistake again. Chances are backward compatibility won't be included in PS4 and blu-ray is a lot cheaper now then it was.

Latest rumors I've heard put the PS4 pricing at around $430, or 40000 yen.

Japanese Newspaper Claims PlayStation 4 Will Cost About $400 - IGN

Of all the reading i've been doing the lowest price i've heard was $700. I'd love for it to be in the 300 price range but I don't trust Sony to lowball on their new prized unit. Heres hoping you're right.

Dead Space was very good, though for some reason on my computer the mouse response was horrible in-game, which I guess contributed to the helpless feeling I had throughout the whole experience. I kept struggling a lot on normal difficulty, maybe with good reason, or maybe I just sucked, but I completed it, at least. Great atmosphere.

Still playing Skyrim, since it's a neverending experience, seemingly. Someone here mentioned that as a mage, the Mage College questline got very difficult once in that Dwemer place, but honestly, for me it was one of the easier places. I've done a lot since then, and with Adept destruction and conjuration spells the game has gotten almost too easy. I guess I could up the difficulty level (playing on Normal, I think), but is that really how it should be solved? I died a quite a bit until I got Adept spells, and now I can't help but pwn everything, so that makes me think the game is unbalanced. It's making me wait to buy Expert spells, that's for sure. Regardless of that, I still think the game is the best I've played since...well, the best for the past 12 months, at least.

I've also completed ep. 1 of The Walking Dead. It's fine, but does anyone else feel the drama is pitiful compared to the TV series? The cartoonish look and silly facial expressions make it hard to really feel their desperation, whereas in the TV series I feel I've been kicked in the guts once in a while (though even the TV series can be a bit heavyhanded once in a rare while). Video games suck at story/feelings most of the time, so it's no surprise, of course.

I may be a tad biased seeing as I hate the TV show, but the game of TWD is sooo good once you get into it. Ep. 1 is, as is often the case with episodic anything, not that impressive, but the series really kicks into gear with Ep. 2. I can almost guarantee that if you have normal human emotions you will come out of this game hating yourself for certain things you chose to do, and not many other games can offer that.

On my front, I've been playing some more Skyrim because I'm legally required to pour at least 20 hours into it every month by this point. I actually bought the Dragonborn DLC but I'm so bad at sticking to one character that I'm probably never going to make use of it. I also bought Hotline Miami a while back, which is a fantastic little game that's worth the tiny asking price for the soundtrack if nothing else. And after all this time of putting it off for no particular reason I finally caved and bought Minecraft. It's pretty good fun, although I haven't managed to drag myself out of terrible building stage yet so I'm reluctant to start any projects.

Megaman 9 & 10

Passed Megaman 10 under an hour, it's a remake of the old megaman games from NES, he can't charge the Buster gun or even slide!

Still, it's pretty fun :)

If you like Dead Space, then I'd definitely recommend the follow-up. It's (also) a good game.

^I agree. Dead Space 2 was fantastic. I'm not too keen on a more open world thing that Dead Space 3 is doing, I like the idea of being stuck in one place, it made the scare factor much higher.
