Happy b-day and I guess that site's list was incomplete though. Congrats. Still going to beat you down regardless of who you have in your fire team.

Has anyone else noticed that e-shop keeps crashing now after the Pokemon update?

Haha thanks! And actually almost all of the pokemon are in the game in some form, but the ones you cant find in the wild are damn near impossible to get (if you havent beaten the game i wont spoil it for you). GTS and Wonder Trading is actually really cool tho and somehow doing wonder trades have gotten me tons of pokemon that i hadnt previously had with very little repeats. Like i was sending off my ****ty pokes during the beginning and now have none left.

And you may beat my all fire team (still probably not tho) but who says thats what ill be pulling out when we battle ooooh

Yeah that's basically it but it's like per friend it's one single type and only up to 3 different pokemon. So my safari for you (for example) is fighting but I can only catch machokes and throhs. It's kind of cool because you can catch almost any pokemon regardless of game exclusives but it's just really hard if you don't have many friends haha

I played that myself for a while back when it came out, I believe I only had about 7 or so hours in it, but mostly cause I was turned off by the whole MMO time investment thing. I do remember it being fun with the whole character customization and combat thing.

but yeah, been playing these

Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP

I finished this the other day actually. Pretty much the main reasons you should play this are for the visuals, music and overall presentation. The story's pretty straightforward: you are a wandering nomad who has to take on the "woeful errand" of collecting the 3 pieces of the Trigon(see what it's referencing) and take it up to the summit of the land of Mingi Taw. The visuals in my opinion are beautiful and is one of my favorite artstyles I've ever encountered in a game. It actually has the look and feel of an old adventure game like King's Quest or Space Quest, but it really has it's own style with just the amount of aesthetic detail combined with this graphically low game. Colors in bushes change back and forth each second, giving the feel of the wind blowing through them, at nighttime you see little blinking pizels that feel like fireflies are all around you, and when you get near animals like rabbits and deer, they move so fluidly in a way that almost makes you forget the low pixel count. There's alot of detail put into every section and it's frankly breathtaking at points.

The dialogue/writing is pretty interesting and humorous too, where it's set in this very isolated land in the mountains but the characters talk with these sort of anachronisms of phrases that people use today. For example, I found a sign on a hut that said this:
Quote:
We spied a curious-looking nestbox with an inscription that read "Tweet & ye shall be re-tweeted"
It's less dialogue and more reading characters thoughts. Some might say it's unnecessary or "hipster-ish" for the characters to talk like this, but I feel like it adds a new side to the setting and world of this game.

I really love the music in this game, and as far as I know the soundtrack comes free with it, so it's definitely recommended to listen to. It has this electronic and earthy type of feel that works so well for complimenting the environment and cutscenes. It and the sounds were produced by musician Jim Guthrie, who actually appears later on in the game, and without spoiling too much there a section where you can "jam" with him and a show he puts on near the end.

With the controls, that's where it can be a bit troublesome. Pretty much this game was originally a port of an IOS game, and most every action is done using the mouse, where you click on the road or places to move the character there or click on something to interact with it. There's some puzzles you solve where you click on things in the environment in a certain order. It's pretty simple and to be honest you can solve most of them through brute forcing it. There's also a combat system and at first it's kind of challenging but soon you'll be able to breeze through most fights. I will also say that there are some parts of the game where you have to back track and go through the same unskippable cutscenes in order to progress at points. They're not overly long but definitely get dull after the 20th time you see them. Still, this should only take you a few hours, and if you don't mind the drawbacks and want an interesting adventure game experience, then check this out.

Singularity

This is a bit of an interesting beast in that while it has some unique and fun elements, it's pretty familiar as an FPS. I've seen it compared to Bioshock, and while there are some similarities both setting and style wise(taking place in the run down remains of a once sprawling land where secret experimentation unbeknownst to the world has taken place), Singularity doesn't have the deeper philosophical or story driven elements of Bioshock and is instead more of a "blast all the enemies with these crazy weapons and abilities" kind of thing. That being said it's pretty fun.

The main gimmick here is the use of the TMD, or time manipulation device, and they do some interesting stuff with it. Some of this includes being able to age enemy soldiers to death, send out a time bubble to sow things down that pass through it, and using your "Impulse" to send a shockwave that pushes enemies back. They're also used to solve puzzles, but for the most part those are pretty simple.

Along with that, you have your regular arsenal(pistol, AK, shotgun, sniper rifle, minigun) which definitely feels good to use, but my favorite gun by far is the Seeker, which when you focus your aim and fire, sends off a bullet that you can direct towards enemies for a 1-hit kill. You only really use it for certain sections and it's not available to get out of a weapon locker though, plus you immediately lose it when you finish these sections. Still, it's pretty awesome.

Intrusion 2

I actually played this as a free trial when I was trying out that OnLive service last night, along with Dirt 2 and Rogue Legacy(both pretty good), and this one was my favorite trial. It's a 2D sidescrolling platformer/shooter in the vein of Contra and Metal Slug, and it was made by one guy over 3 years. What really makes this game are the really interesting physics and the WTF-ness of the enemies and combat.

The way everything in the game moves and feels gives it all it's own weight and doesn't feel like anything I've really played before. It's pretty much a procedurally generated animation system and it can make for some cool moments, where you can ride of top of flying enemies or push around rocks and boxes to crush guys around you. The way that the action is laid out is pretty fun and makes for some really sick moments. My favorite part was when I killed a soldier riding on top of a huge wolf and then got to ride the wolf around while shooting, where enemies I passed were automatically mauled and torn up. I like the music alot too, it gives you that kind of hard rock/cock rock feel when you're machine gunning dudes down that you would hear in some of the most action packed of 80s movies.
