What Game Are You Playing Right Now?

The Longest Journey

I bought this off Steam earlier today because it's been awhile since I've played a point and click adventure game and I'm not sure if my computer can handle the newest Monkey Island games. So far I'm impressed, the voice acting is good, the puzzles are challenging but in a good way, and it's not very hard to jump onto the train of logic that the game designer was on. My only real complaint so far is how slow April moves, I swear it takes her like a minute and a half just to walk across one middle section that connects all the outside sections. Just beat the first chapter and only had to consult gamefaqs once so I'm doing OK.

I just did something last night that I am not proud of. My friends and I did a 4 on 4 age of empires multiplayer fight or whatever. It was intense, but it was like one of the most nerdy things ever. oh well...

You've obviously never played Risk before then.

I also picked up another game off Steam (because where else are you going to find old PC games?)

game based on H.P. Lovecraft and made by Bethesda Studios? I pretty much came buckets

One thing about the game that I think is so cool is the way musical flourishes are added to the song as you paint. I mean whoever created the music for that game is some kind of genius, because it always sounds like it fits right in with what's happening musically no matter when in the song you paint something. And it's also really neat how all the songs start of very minimal and then layer after layer as you paint. Plus to me the whole concept of splashing paint everywhere is just fundamentally enjoyable.

It's a great game, quite challenging but not ridiculously unforgiving and so it's an easy game to pick up and play.

The gameplay is quite unique but the goal is like Metroid. It's all about exploration, upgrading your weapons and shooting everything that moves.

It gets my seal of quality.

The fact that it had levels you played both in and out of your vehicle was very unique at the time. I remember thinking that was really cool back in the day.

Bucky O Hare for the NES.

This game has infinite continues and checkpoints and thank god because it's ball crushingly hard. Very fun though.
