What Game Are You Playing Right Now?

Cuphead

It pains me that I don't like this game, it really does. The art style, music, and and level of creativity on display is nothing short of mindblowing. This is a game that so much effort, love, and passion went into that you kind of feel compelled to try and like it, but I just can't do it. This game is just too hard. I didn't grow up on these kind of boss rush shooter platformers and as such I just do not have the patience to continue on, even though a part of me really wants to so I can say I've beaten it. I've been anticipating this game since it was announced at E3 in 2014, so it's pretty heartbreaking to know that I'll likely never get to fully experience it. Still, I can at least watch a Let's Play of it, but it's not the same.

heard about this today, sounds interesting. i like a challenge but it doesn’t take much before i’ll tap out to a game so i’m not sure if i’d be up for it either. definitely an interesting one though.

I would have gotten it if it wasn't only on Xbox and PC.

It is definitely a rage inducer from some of the streams I have watched of it. Super punishing.

Playing Virtua Tennis 4. Pretty good so far and a big improvement over Virtua Tennis 3 and 2009. Some huge difficulty spikes leave clueless as to what I have to do to play better, so it's a bit frustrating right now. I like a lot about it though. Some of the pro players even look quite a lot like their real world counterparts, which isn't allways the case in the tennis games I've been playing.

It's really the only sports game genre that I like.

Throne of Lies

Similar to Town of Salem (which I never played), but more complex and generally regarded as an upgrade to it.

You have 2 sides fighting against each other, where the objective is to eliminate the opposing faction, and there are also a number of neutral classes with really cool unique win conditions:

Fool: Trick people into executing you to win

Mercenary: You get one person to protect, if they live, you win.

There are a ton of really interesting, powerful classes with cool spells, and only a few boring classes (in my unexperienced opinion).

Super fun, chat driven game.

I bought Ark for the PS4, about to tribe up with some friends and I'm pretty excited. I'm sure some of you have played Ark, any quickie reviews?

Amazing game. If you like crafting then it can take up hours of your time even without doing any dinosaur things. I kind of gave up on the game a while back after a tyrannosaur killed my stegosaur. I loved that stegosaur and was heartbroken. They also got my pteranodon, Ke$ha, shortly after which was the last straw. I'd totally get back into the game though, even if my computer and internet connection are only just good enough to play it on potato settings.

And make sure to get yourself a flying mount asap. Makes getting around the island infinitely quicker and safer. Just keep an eye on their energy level, or you might end up like me and drop from the sky like a rock at night right on top of a tyrannosaur and lose your mind.

Oh and I finally gave Penumbra a go to record, got my **** scared fairly well, and then went back to look at the video only for it to be janky. So I guess that dream's over. There's always System Shock 2. But I guess I should stick with Penumbra just to say I did. God that's gonna be a trial.
