Just this, so far:

I'm sort of a Batman fan, and the last one I actually saw in a theater was Batman Returns, (which was the last one that was worth anything with the Keaton flicks, went downhill from there, with whoever...) heh... and I dig Nolan's re-imaginings of the franchise, but didn't get to see any of them on the big screen, so this summer, I'll be attending the final flick of his trilogy.

I love seeing movies in a proper theater, so now that I have a chance for my second Nolan flick in a theater (first was Inception), I'm definitely going to take it.
Plus, the popcorn is so f*cking good.

seen all but the 1989 one in theatres on opening night.

I remember seeing Batman Returns, my grandpa took me to the theatre that night with the hopes of us seeing Pinnochio. A few minutes into Batman, he looked over at me in shock and said "You know... there is still time to go to Pinnochio"... which made sense, that movie was dark and frightening to many children, so much so that McDonalds cancelled their toy line..

But he toughed it out for the remainder of the movie.

Personally though, I think Batman Returns is the second worst of those movies, after Batman Forever and before Batman and Robin. Batman Forever was more of a family film, but it had great visuals and kept you watching til the end. Returns was just depressing and had a sorta week storyline. But the performances made up for it.

In other words, typical Burton film.... the visuals are great and keep you watching, so that you won't notice that the writing is pretty bland. But back then, I didn't care, was Batman.

Anyways, with that said, you can guarentee I will be taking that day off from work and going to the theatre to see them new film, doubt it will live up to The Dark Knight, but it will sure as hell try anyways.

i thought the Nolan ones were worse than Burton's, which were in turn, worse than the 1966 one

but that's just me

(don't think anybody will take me seriously on this)

Yea, back then, the entire concept of Batman was awesome to me, and the finer details weren't really in my focus, but I'm sure the sentimentality has something to do with the fact that I can still watch both Keaton Batmans and enjoy them. I can't really do it that much with the rest, up until the Nolan films.

I do not even think you are taking yourself seriously here. The 1966 one is an exception to the rule, because it is meant to be taken tongue in cheek. It was a great movie for its time, and a fun watch. Series was better, but the movie is just fun... I mean come on, who can't love the "Some days you just can't rid of a bomb!" scene...... no one I wanna know.

The Dark Knight is still the best Batman movie to date. Batman Begins isn't my favorite, would rank it somewhere in the middle, but it was a good origin story.

Tomorrow night I am going to watch The Game of Thrones. I'll finally learn what the fuss is about!
