It's filler in the fact that a scene at the temple which would take ten minutes for any of us to get through took several episodes, with not much explanation. The fact that there are a few episodes left and so many things to wrap up and yet we're wasting time watching Sun get hit over the head and only being able to speak Korean. A lot of it feels like season 3 rather than the concluding episodes of a great tv show. They could eliminate the 'time wasting' scenes and make the really good bits better and longer. The good parts of this season have been awesome.

most of the last episode was very good, but i think it contained the biggest WTF moment in the entire show.

desmond and faraday are sitting on a bench chatting. faraday pulls out a notebook filled with equations he wrote, then launches into a tirade about setting off a nuclear weapon to stop something really really bad from happening and thereby changing the course of time.

where the hell did he pull all that from?

I got the impression that seeing Charlotte made him remember all of that from the main timeline, much in the same way Desmond remembered things about Penny when confronted with the parallel situation with Charlie in the water. They remember because something in them knows that what they're experiencing in the alternate timeline wasn't supposed to happen, something just has to bring out the part of them that senses that. Which apparently is what Desmond now intends to do to everybody else.

I'm pretty excited about tonight's episode. Gin and Sun better be reunited, Desmond has to figure out ****, and I wanna see Charlie again. Then I will be truly happy. I also really really really want Claire and Charlie back together.. Some way, some how. It's just how it has to be!

:D pumped

I loved last week's episode. The preview for this week sucked, but it DID appear to be a Hurley episode. If that's the case, they better get to answering the only question I care about at this point... WHY was Libby in that dang hospital?? I don't care if they explain it away in one sentence like "Oh, it's because my Husband died" i'll just be happy to get an answer!

Chubbosaurus 04-13-2010 02:22 PM

Agreed! She would be such a pointless character if they don't touch up on her again. I also want to know what makes those specific numbers so "unlucky" and significant I guess you can say. I love Hurley, and most Hurley episodes are good ones.

So. She just kinda blew up. That was fairly interesting.

What an insanely good episode.

NEVER expected her to go Doc Arntz.

I'm glad this Libby thing finally got some revolve, though I'd still like to learn more about her, she says she admitted herself, and if that's so it's probably out of depression stemmed from the death of her husband as revealed in the first Desmond episode way back from the season 2 finale.

And I didn't expect Illana to go out the way she did at all, I swear Lost writers pull this sh*t all the time, build up all this mystery around a character, making you want to learn more about that person but then kaboom, gone.

For a woman handpicked by Jacob to protect the candidates she wasn't too bright, you don't just toss a bag of obviously unstable, 160 year old dynamite on the f*cking ground.

I also hope Desmond survives, being thrown down a well RIGHT after his longly anticipated return would be a pretty lame way for him to go out.

Nine Black Poppies 04-14-2010 05:58 PM

Yeah, Desmond's definitely not done yet. He, thus far, seems to be the only character that smokey Locke is at all afraid of--they're not gonna just throw him down a well and be done with him. (Plus, there's probably something significant down there he's going to encounter, based on what was said about the well.)

I'm not completely satisfied with the way they brought Libby back either, but at least they're acknowledging her again. And her presence in the alternate timeline may still be significant both there and in the main timeline. I think, though, in the alternate timeline, her checking into the hospital had something/more to do with her having the "delusional" memories of the main timeline, because when Hurley went to see her, she implied that those memories came to her before she got there.

What I'm curious about is what Desmond hoped to achieve by running down alternate Locke--what effect that's supposed to have.

And what role Locke (real/dead or otherwise) still has to play in this. Because according to the the lighthouse, Locke is one of the 6 numbers and it seems like all the numbers (4-Locke, 8-Hurley, 15-Sawyer, 16-Sayid, 23-Jack, 42-either Sun or Jin) all have to be together to leave the island or do whatever is supposed to happen.

Also, wtf happened to Eloise to make her so clairvoyant about everything (in both timelines)--to a degree that no one else seems to be? That's been bugging me for a while now...
