You have to understand that some of the things these players manage to do are not even fathomable until you see it happen.

Anyway, I won't bust your balls about it anymore. Just defending my interests.
As far as your analogy goes, watching Keiji Haino do his business usually perplexes me even more than if I were just listening to him. But I get your point.

I considered making this thread before MSI started because I know DWV would like to discuss it, but decided not to simply because I knew people would, for no reason whatsoever, come in here and try to tell us it's dumb to enjoy watching eSports. So thank you to Frown for confirming that. I should go spend all my time in the avant garde forums in threads for artists I'm not interested in rambling about how they don't interest me, those would be some very high quality posts

I know most people who like regular sports think they're better in a stadium than on TV. Do you esports fans think the reverse is true for esports?

I know you were joking, but:

No, I'd much rather be in my comfortable bed watching them on the big screen then sitting in foldout chairs and looking up at the giant screens.

The same goes for real sports.

I wasn't joking. I was just curious after seeing the stadiums full of people in the video in the OP. It seemed like a weird environment to watch something on a screen.

I'd love to attend a giant esports event simply for the atmosphere

I made this thread for people like DWV and Frown cause i want to hear both sides of the argument.

To me what is interesting about eSports is the eventuality of it, as our technology keeps evolving so will eSports and maybe one day i'll see the AFL (Android Football league)

The possibility of achieving something like that is no longer a sci fi dream at the pace we're going it could be a reality in 20 to 30 years.

To me this is bigger than LoL and South Korea, it's about the evolution of technology.

I don't want to argue about it. I love eSports and love to discuss them with other people that also love eSports, but instead these threads will continuously devolve into people starting arguments on something they're clearly not interested in and should be staying away from.

I used to like watching my brother play Final Fantasy, or Tekken, or what ever. When I was playing Max Payne my GF would always watch, saying it was like watching a movie, but with real elements, since it was all controlled by my decisions and reflexes. I just can't see myself going to an arena just to look up at a screen though. I could see the mass appeal of an audience experiencing things unfolding at the same time, kind of like when everyone gasps or laughs at a movie theater, it just kind of heightens the experience, but I hate going to the movies too so the novelty just isn't there for me.
