If you haven't heard Melt-Banana yet I can send you Cell-Scape if you'd like. It's a good place to start. The band is female fronted too. Intense stuff though.

If it's not any trouble that would be much appreciated! From what I've looked up they seem pretty intense, but like I said I've heard lots of good things about them. Definitely interested in giving them a listen.

Melt Banana are really good, kooky, noisy and great fun but an acquired taste.

I personally love female drummers and find something very primordial about them. The energy and power required as well as the rhythm a bit of a turn on. I have a live Prince DVD and Sheila E is the drummer on the stage show and she's sassy and a brilliant drummer to boot. Certainly does something for me.

A great post that explores the connection between female musicians and sex appeal that shows that you don't have to show flesh to appeal to fans.

I saw her live when she played with Jeff Beck. She had a solo in a song, and she was an absolutely phenomenal soloist. Such a shame that some misogynist dirtbags were jerking their fingers around whilst doing their poorest interpretation of a guitar player, saying "That's all she's doing... Why is she soloing when Jeff could be soloing?"

Some people just never learned to tame fire I guess.

Ugh, I hate people like that. I hate guys that are intimidated and subsequently derogatory when females are talented or intelligent. Tal is amazing, though. Love her.

I haven't really though of anything interesting to make a post on, so here is my friend and I jamming:

Yeah.
I think you're either a perfectionist or you just love to say this. It's not "crummy" at all. Also you say the instrumentation is very basic, very simple, very repetitive but thats what it is in this track. I thought it sounded great, I think it suits your singers voice and I like the backing vocals and the harmonies.

I definitely don't love to say that, I honestly don't think any of the stuff I do is that good haha! But it's really nice to hear that you like it, reassuring! Thanks so much mojo. One thing I'd like to work on next time is perhaps doing more harmonies instead of singing in unison.

Thanks for reading my journal!

Yeah.
100 x better than the crap that was on X factor tonight that I had the misfortune to catch out of the corner of my eye tonight as it was Beatles night on the programme and apart from the final performer, they all murdered the hell out of the songs.
