I don't like the thought that people are "stealing ideas". I did what I did in my journal because I thought it was an interesting idea and thought it'd be cool to review members albums.

God's sake man! It's a friendly prod, a joke. Not meant to be taken seriously. Lighten up, yeah? There's no harm in as many people as possible bringing the music of our talented fellow members to the attention of the rest of us. But I created a journal for the idea, so it's not like you didn't know. I don't have a problem with it; Pet_Sounds "accused" me of robbing his idea too. More power to you.

But get a sense of humour.

Yeah, sorry about that man. I posted that in an irritated mood which wasn't exactly smart. I know what you were getting at, I just took it personally.

Also, anyone else who wants their work reviewed (yours are in the pipeline, Plankton, don't worry) just drop me a line.

Hey TH, just wondering if I can swap my submission since I'm still in the queue. I'd rather have this release reviewed:
Synaptic Obsolescence | Mindprowler

Just re-listened to it today for the first time in a long time and realized it's probably the most honest music I've ever made, very much reflects my headspace that year.

Thanks

Howdy Trollheart

Just wondering if you'd ever be willing to give Daydream Society another chance? No pressure at all, I just feel bummed because out of my now-five albums you happened to pick the darkest and most experimental one. I just don't think you have a very good idea of what most of it is actually like.

I've basically been chronicling my life as an adult through those albums in a rather abstract way, and "Apathy, Always" was made during one of the darker periods of my life and the album certainly reflects that. I was stuck at home in a studio apartment with multiple rib fractures, completely depressed and literally unable to make a song that sounded pleasant. The vast majority of the time though I'm a happy person so very little of my music has been made in that mindset. Whereas for that album I was going for long, experimental drone sessions my newest was going for beautiful soundscapes and brief (sometimes overly) snippets of melodies using far more pleasant sounding synths and chords.

If you humored me and gave the first track of Deconstruct a shot I'm almost certain you'd appreciate it a lot more.

Sure, I'll put it on the list, though you'll have to appreciate I'm mega busy at the moment (see my just-completed review of chapter one of Watchmen in Trollheart's Futureshock...)

I expect nothing less

But yeah again no rush whatsoever, just knowing that it's on the chopping block eventually makes me feel at peace.
