Music like that is mostly going to be just some jingle that somebody wrote just for the intro to this show. It's probably not anything done by some identifiable band, or anything like that.

Interestingly, the "1981/03/16 - WWF @ Madison Square Garden" intro went all synthy with Hyperdrive by Francis Monkman and Malcolm Ironton, KPM 1233.

Big change, in the space of 5 months.

Agreed, DYCDTTS. Could well be an unknown snippet.
Yet 'Paul Shaffer and the World's Most Dangerous Band' had some long-term players, so we might just pick up a signal somewhere.

Laydies and gentlemen, via a mate in Manchester, who is an awesome jazz trumpeter and pianist, Jeremy Sassoon, tonight we bring you, from the Bosworth Archive Series, Kennnnnnny Saaaalmon (Kenny Salmon) with Powerhouse!!

Kenny Salmon - Powerhouse

Apols if the previous post didn't mention all the info:
- Title: "Powerhouse" (or Kraftwerk)
- Composer: Kenny Salmon
- Year: 1976
- Performer: The Bernard Ebbinghouse Orchestra
- Bosworth Music - BLP 146

I dunno if the WWF clip used the exact version, or if someone else tweaked it for the show

Thanks QX for posting  You heard a lovely track

Congratulations on finding the track id. Bosworth Music, a production music library I've never heard of.

The only thing that I was even on the right path with was the British connection, with Kenny Salmon. But I was thinking a more prominent British library composer (Dale, Hawkshaw.

I'd never heard of Bosworth either. I love locating these.

Dale must have written for Bosworth as well on BLP 146, with The Sydney Dale Orchestra. 1:47:40 "A Round Trip", bloody hell.

Another one I never heard before: 0:23:18 Paolo Zavallone with "Papillon Rouge". Lonnie vibes.

The YT poster is 11db11, if anyone is interested in the time stamps.

There's probably something in there for everyone.

Another one is "Helicopter Power" (1972) by Berry Lipman. or Friedel Berlipp. Like Bosworth, there seems to be a German (middle European) element.

Discogs has this one as BBB Berlipp's Brass Band - Selected Sound 9029

Helicopter Power. Has a groove to it.

If you find any other these type of songs, please share them. I'm a big fan of these libraries. I just wish it was more accessible.

Yeah will do. Will start by reposting Paolo Zavallone ‎– Papillon Rouge as I think he deserves another mention. Some good ol' droom an bayss.
