This is the album that finally broke my streak of hating the band.

The White Stripes have always been good, GBMS was really dissapointing, but all their other albums are solid. What makes this album better then their others for you?

Check out Elephant first for sure. It is by far their best imo.

its at the very least the most accesible. I'll throw my old "white stripes greatest hits" post up in my journal if you want to look at that and make your own disc.

Edit: Waiting on approval, its in two posts because its too long. Hope it helps.

It's weird, the White Stripes do songs that normally please me and I like, and there is always the better song than all of the other. That song here is Icky Thump, while the rest are ok. So...

Well Elephant is their best album to start with. The order would probably be like this simply from best to worst:

White Blood Cells
S/T
Elephant
Icky Thump
De Stiiji
Get Behind Me Satan

I very much like A Martyr For My Love For You....
I agree with adidasss, if you don't feel something after listening to it, you're dead inside.

I was a little late to the White Stripes party because I didn't like Fell in Love With A Girl but my girlfriend told me to listen to this album when it first came out and I loved it and have come around on the White Stripes and have all their records as well as all the Raconteurs records...Even my Mom likes this record.
