I took me a long time to adjust to the slick polished steel sound of
Mezzanine because it was departure from the rockers sound system approach of
Blue Lines and
Protection. MA goes to great lengths to make each album different from the previous one so it will probably take some time for me to catch up to their learning curve.
MA is 6 or 7 years ahead of everyone else and only release an album as often, so I'm taking my time to savor this one.
