This. They really need to stop trying to reach the masses and get back to their roots.

Supremacy weas a great track, yeah. Almost gave me the hope that this album would be good, but eh. It's mediocre overall.

I listened and i gave it 1/5. Resistance was different but it was a really sick album and I wont buy the 2nd Law cuz all there other stuff was way better.

The first three Muse albums were great, so in comparison I would give the album a 1/5 but in the great scheme of things there are a lot worse albums out there and although the first single was terrible the rest of the non-dubstep tracked seemed to be on par with The Resistance so I'll say this is more along the lines of 2.6/5.

Resistance sucked. This was a definite step up from that album, but if you didn't like any other releases, you probably won't like this album either

I gave it a go while I was play StarCraft, so I wasn't listening intently.

It came off as cheesy and boring. I won't be listening again, as I was never much of a Muse fan.

I like this one. I bought Absolution when it came out, and I have picked up all their releases since. I also like the unique progression of the band. The whole apocalyptic theme that is in all their albums resonates with me. Plus, I like the Queen influence that has evolved into their albums.

This album nearly made me vomit. Madness is the worst track on it and so I guess the album wasn't as bad as I had feared, given I was expecting an albums worth of that track but it was still awful.

Muse is not in my top tier of bands (not even close). But, like I said, I do enjoy the album. I can also see why some music fans would not like the album (or even Muse for that matter), but I'm surprised that someone with your level of music knowledge and appreciation would find any album (performed with at least some level of proficiency) that would make you want to vomit. I certainly don't rank all music the same, but personally, I find some enjoyment in all types of music, as long as the music is performed with a certain level of proficiency, and I think Muse certainly hits that benchmark on some level.

By the way, this isn't a major Muse defense; I appreciate that people have different opinions on music, but I can't think of any *accomplished* band in any genre that I actually hate, or would make me want to vomit. Just my 2 cents.

The most positive thing I can say about this album was, again, that it isn't as bad as I had feared and that there is at least the possibility that it will be a grower.

One of the main reasons I dislike it is because I just don't buy into it. I've always struggled to buy into a band who attempt huge, grand, theatrical music if I find it nothing but cheesy and pretentious. This is, of course, due to simply personal taste. I also don't always take too kindly to what I see as a band taking an easy, safe step into following a current trend or playing to whatever is popular to capitalise on a thriving market financially.

To me this record smells of something a band produce at a safe, secure time in their career. A band who are scratching an itch to perhaps try something big, something grand, something theatric and think that 'now is the time' to take a risk on it. It's a very ambitious album and I also question the decision to use this album to try both something of this scale and something so familiar, so safe and so trendy such as commercial dubstep.
