I may have to check this out. It's getting good reviews everywhere, though I have no idea what genre it is, and I don't think i've ever heard of the artist before.

I'm split on whether I should bother buying this one or not. Three M.I.A. albums in my collection might be enough M.I.A. for me. Her last one was sort of mixed for me anyway, but I'll check out the singles again and make a decision I suppose.

The first half of this album is a bit rough around the edges. If you aren't already a M.I.A. fan then you won't appreciate it but the easier to digest songs come in with "Bad Girls" and everything else afterwards.

I sorta like most of the songs I've heard on Matangi... But don't you think Maya sounds a bit subdued on her latest outing?

None of the new songs on Matangi reach out and grab me like Pull Up the People and Gulang did on Arular, her first album. I think Arular was one of the five best albums of the 2000-2009 decade.

I loved M.I.A.'s first album and liked her second a lot, then honestly completely lost track of her. I didn't even realize she had put out a third album let alone this one. So now that this thread has gotten me thinking about her and reading about her again I'm looking forward to checking out both.

I have to say though, that is one ugly ass album cover.
