Mars Volta is the sound of ATDI going beyond the safety zone of cookie cutter structured music. Some people can't handle that.

Thta's ridiculous

I was being 100% sincere. No sarcasm intended. I have my a$$hole/idiot moments like anyone else on this forum, and the best I can do is recognize it, apologize, and move on.
I love Portishead (as well as most other trip-hop), but they satisfy a much different fix than what TMV does. |
Cool
Well then, that's settled. Let me ask you, do you like the Sneaker Pimps?
I don't dislike em', but They're not really my thing.
How do I start a thread?
I probably sound like an idiot, but does anyone know how I can start a thread?
1) Go to the forum jump thingie in the lower right hand corner of the page
2) click on the forum where you would like to start the thread 3) click "new thread" in the upper lefthand corner of the screen I think you can handle it from there. |
Thanks
Thanks

mars volta
mars volta are pretty good (but afi are better)
mars volta + rhcp?
I was just looking over the liner notes of Mars Volta's album Frances the Mute and noticed something a little strange... John Frusciante and Flea played multiple insturments on like 4 songs on the album. I mean, some of the lead guitar stuff rips, but doesn't this seem a little strange? For some reason, the now-pop chili peppers sound doesn't naturally adapt itself to crazy Latino 'Yes'-sounding Meringue/Metal/Indie music. At least for me. lol. Weird, right? Any other really weird colloborations I should know of to give my mind a whirl? Cheers,
John |
The Red Hot Chili Peppers shouldn`t even be allowed on their own albums let alone anyone elses
lol. yeah. since blood sugar they've gone way downhill.
Flea played bass on De-loused in the Comatorium too, they're good friend apparently so they got them to play some stuff rather than hiring some session musicians they didn't know.
Flea is a damn good bassist and the horns sound good as well. I'm not sure why you're complaining
Another Mars Volta Thread
Mars Volta. Good band. I think their three biggest influences are Pink Floyd, Rush, and of course At The Drive-In. Does that sound about right?
.......If this is 'another' mars volta thread why didnt you just post in an existing one?
the search wouldnt work. the little word box wouldnt pop-up.
actually i just got it to work and there is no Mars Volta thread.
i think i hear a little Radiohead and Aerosmith do I not? Never Sleep Alone? Rocks?
OH! OHHH!! OH! HEY!! *waves hand around* !!! I HAVE AN IDEA!
Why don't we just lock the thread? |
nooooooooooo!!!!!!!!

The Mars Volta
I do. De-loused in the Comatorium is a great album. Love the vocals, and they bring something different to prog rock.
